Professional Development

We provide one-day and two-day MRPS based Inquiry Learning practicums; half-day and full-day Inquiry Learning workshops, and a wide range of 2 hour ICT workshops.  Please make enquiries to Michelle.Westlake@det.wa.edu.au.

One-day Practicum    Meet us at 9:00 for an overview of Inquiry Learning in our school, view the resources we use and discuss your school's particular needs.  Visit a range of classrooms from Junior Primary through to Upper Primary for observations.  Regroup for specific discussion on implementation of Inquiry learning and ICT, and assistance with planning. 

Cost:  $40 per delegate, plus 1 TR day for every 6 teachers.                    top

Two-day Practicum    Day 1:  Meet us at 9:00 for an overview of Inquiry Learning in our school, view the resources we use, and discuss your school's particular needs. Visit a range of classrooms from Junior Primary through to Upper Primary for observations.  Regroup for specific discussion on implementation of Inquiry Learning and ICT.  Revisit classrooms and learning areas to focus on individual interests. 

                                    Day 2:  Meet us at 9:00 for a 3-hour workshop (plenty of interaction) on Inquiry Learning in the Information Age.  Address issues of ICT Integration, Information Literacy, Change Management, Reflective Practice, Cooperative Learning Strategies, Emotional Intelligence, Thinking Skills (6 Hats, Bloom's Taxonomy, Multiple Intelligences, Thinkers' Keys, Question Design with Concept Keys, Graphic Organisers) Planning and Evaluating, and Learning Environment.  Spend the afternoon in guided personal planning for Inquiry implementation.

Cost: $80 per delegate, plus 2 TR days for every 6 teachers.                    top
